题目：Research Activities of Engineering Modelling and simulation Research Group at UWE
个人概况：Dr Yufeng Yao is currently Professor in Aerospace Engineering at the University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol and also heads the Engineering Modelling and Simulation research group which explores complex engineering design, analysis and control relevant issues occurred in practical engineering systems. Prof Yao’s research interest and expertise include direct and large-eddy simulations of turbulent flow in complex geometries, transitional turbulent flow in shock/boundary-layer interactions and the RANS modelling of single- and multi-phase flows and heat transfer for industrial applications such as turbo-machinery, automotive and built environment. His research covers various complex flow problems relevant to aerospace, turbo-machinery, automotive, and built environment.
Prof Yao is Fellow of Royal Aeronautical Society (UK), Associate Fellow of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Prof Yao has awarded 1000 Plan of Zhejiang Province and held an Adjunct Professorship at the School of Aerospace, Zhejiang University since 2012. Prof Yao has published over 230 papers in Journals and peer reviewed conferences. He has served as the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Theoretical and Applied Multi-scale Mechanics.
Prof Yao received his BENG in Applied Mechanics from National University of Defense Technology, Changsha China in 1984, MSc in Viscous Fluids from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China in 1987, and awarded PhD from University of Glasgow, UK in 1996. He was working as CFD Design Engineer at Shanghai Aircraft Design and Research Institute 1987-1993, Siemens Gas Turbomachinery Ltd. UK 2002-2003, Post-docs at QMW College, Cambridge, Southampton and Senior Lecturer/Reader at Kingston University London, 2003-2012, before taking the current Chair position at UWE Bristol.
